Just saw this on cyclingnews http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?id=/photos/2007/tech/features/tour_de_suissetech/IMG_0936 Definitely looks like a nice Crankset, though the chainrings look to be Ultegra or maybe Ultegra SL rather than Dura-Ace. Hopefully this Dura-Ace upgrade will be ready for next ...

It's not so much time on the front, that's easy to organise. If someone's getting tired, they just sit at the back for a while. The issue would be making sure we don't blast away from someone on the hills, and don't push anyone too hard. We've got a few rider choices which we'll have to decide on la...

I guess the thing we'll be remembering is in a team time trial we have to ride to the strength of the weakest rider at any point in time. So, i don't think we'd be losing too much time slowing down a bit for one hill. The main thing really will be to keep it all smooth, which is why we need to pract...

Wagga race entries close this weekend
Just a reminder that entries for the Opens in Wagga Wagga are closing this weekend. Alan usually drives down in the van, so there's no need to drive yourself, but i'll confirm that he's going. The races are great to do, and i've been down there the last 4yrs, taking out the first sprint (at 40km) 2y...

I never really contest the sprint at Sutherland myself, as i don't feel it achieves anything. I may pick the pace up coming towards it, but that's really just testing my legs, and gives me an idea of my form. It's safer if we decide not to do it, as even if you want to practice sprinting, you're bet...

I have to agree, the aerodynamics of the Cervelo are as good as you're going to find. It's prettymuch the same weight as most other alloy frames from what i remember, so if someone really needed lighter they would have to go for the carbon version. Saying that, getting a bike with this frame down to...

I'll spend my time off shopping for a new helmet. First i need to contact the Australian MET distributer and see if the Stradivarius 199 is available yet. Might make it 3 weeks, but we'll see how it all goes, need my face to heal first. Though i've made the decision that i won't be doing Ken Dinnerv...

Don't have the extension yet, have to put a Special considerations form in with the assignment, but i'm pretty sure they won't refuse. My other issue was missing out on 2 stages of the Cyclingnews Fantasy Giro, so i missed out on 340points, however i believe i may still have a chance, as last year i...

I agree with James in that we should get out of the habit of jumping on the back of other bunches and just ride as our own bunch. Dropped riders on the back of other clubs bunches is fine, but we just need to try and keep the main bunch seperate. I don't think we need to pull over if another bunch o...

Generally i believe if a bottle cage is going to work properly, the bottle will eventually scratch. If you don't want the bottles to scratch, the cage probably won't be holding them tight enough, meaning the bottle may bounce out. I use Elite Patao cages, bit heavy, but they hold the bottle well, wh...

That photo didn't really capture the injury from the best angle. The swelling has decreased and i can open my eye now, i'll see if i can get another picture for you later. Anyway, i didn't really have any pain surprisingly, so i'd say i've been pretty lucky. My recollection of the accident - I was o...

Sounds like a plan, otherwise i'm sure a bed trailer would be viable. They also made this one http://www.digave.com/couch/band.htm, definitely needed a Tandem for it.

This has a 50/32. Pretty sure it was a 34. Front derailleurs can't really handle a difference more than 16 teeth, and that's right at the limit. As for the 53, i find the bigger ring is smoother, that's why i like it. If i was going compact for racing i'd probably try and go 51/36, maybe i'd even t...

Seems like a good idea. I'm thinking of building myself a golden wing like Eugen uses for touring. Carbon Fibre would be ideal, though i need to teach myself how to use it. What about building a Couch trailer instead http://www.digave.com/couch/cm.htm Just think who would want a lift to Waterfall on...

I have a compact on my touring bike. Did have 50/36 for the first time i took it down to Tassie, but then when i swapped to 175mm cranks i decided to go for 50/34 just so i had a bit lower gear. The cassette i'm running is 12-26, and i found i would like to have an 11 there, because when you're ridi...

Just noticed, Live Video only seems to be for the last 1hr. I have a program to download the Archived footage, but i'm wondering if the quality is good enough. Well, i had a program, i'll find it again, but first i'll see if there's a torrent somewhere with better quality footage. Still need to down...
