Hi DHBCers, I'm going to be in Sydney next week and was hoping to make it on the Wednesday DHBC ride. I was just wondering if anyone could loan me a bike for a few days. I ride a 54cm top tube but am not to aggressive these days so anything 50-54cm would be awesome. I promise to look after after it....

Remove the fork and.or seat post and turn it upsidedown to drain. Give the inside of the fame a spray with some fish oil (odorless if you prefer!). For most carbon parts a torque wrench with a quarter inch driver will work best. Torque wrenches are designed to be accurate in the middle of their range. I.e 3 to 20nm will cover most fasteners on a bike. You only need a large torque wrench for things like bottom brackets and cassette lock rings. I...

The HED ardennes is an excellent rim and is the Pancenti sl23 and H+Son archetype. That's what I was saying. The new stuff is much better… it has a 'lighter/smoother' action when shifting up onto the big ring.Actually it's not hand size so much as the amount of "force" that needs to be applied..

Eleri makes a good point that shifting onto the big ring can be hard. My hands are little and I have been known to slip occasionally. My order of preference: 1. Dura-Ace 9000 (best groupset either mechanical or electronic). DA 7900 was a bit lackluster with the shifting but Shimano really nailed it the 9000 series. 2. Ultegra 6800 (best value for money, heavier than DA9000 but similar performance, cheaper to replace worn out parts...

I think that even if road disc was allowed by the UCI, the pros wouldn't use them. Half the pro peleton are now rollin on 25s (depending to some degree on the course/roads). Remember most deep carbon rims are near 28mm in the middle so the transition from tyre to rim is more aero than you'd expect. The main disadvantage of 25s is actually weight weight gain.
