Re: break pads replacement - alu shards
Thanks all for the comments.
I had considered the Swiss Stop Green, but have read in a few forums a few people complaining that they eat away the rims by collecting stuff specially in the wet.
Can you confirm that they are 'gentle' on the wheels?
Cheers

break pads replacement - alu shards
Hi all We had a particular wet July and I have noticed that the break pad inserts have collected a lot of grit and alu shards. Breaking became noisy and left some impressions on the (alloy) rims. Got through the month by plucking the shards off almost every commuting day which was really annoying. C...

These look great. I'd question the battery life but a good commuter solution: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dingbikelight/ding-bike-lights Hi Jo. Really liked these. And after a closed call tonight at the infamous Bourke St, I'm seriously thinking of getting them. The battery might not be to...

Hi Peter
Can you please confirm that the finish time in Marrickville is ~10:15am?
Last Sunday at the Waterfall ride I heard someone saying that we should expect to get back at or after lunch time.
Cheers

Advice on wheel upgrade for a road bike
Following up on the success of the topic 'Advice on new road tyre' I'm hoping to get some advice on a new wheelset. To be honest, I find the options out there so many and a bit overwhelming. I understand that different wheels serve different purposes and styles and I have heard that in selecting a w...

Re: Advice on new road tyre
Here is my follow up feedback. I ended up going with a pair of Ultremo DDs (not the ZX) and they are great. I do a few club rides to Waterfall, Eastern Hills and Slowies and commute almost daily through the dirty streets of Redfern, Surry Hills and the city. So far have had only one puncture which h...

Set the alarm, woke up, but so did the baby. After a while we both went back to sleep.
As a punishment I had a broken spoke during the wet ride to work.

Hi Christian
I'd be interested in a club cut small jersey depending on the turnaround of the order.
Are you working with a particular timeframe?
Cheers

Great comments all round and many options to consider. Thanks very much. But I have to admit I like the balance of the Schwalbe Ultremo DD and might give them a try. Advice on new road tyre
I understand that tyre choice is quite personal and also varies according to type of riding and rider weight, but I really would like your opinion on the subject. I have recently fitted 2 x Continental Grand Prix 4000S II (700 x 23c) and 500kms later this happens to the back tyre. http://www.avocom....

Re: Queen's Birthday ride
Thanks Dougie I was only trying to get an idea of the general interest. Being a newbie I don't know many routes and I'm terrible with directions. So I can pick the starting point, time, suggest a pace and hope people will come up with nice rides. The usual suspects are Akuna, Gorges, Eastern Suburbs...

Queen's Birthday ride
Anyone up for a ride on Monday (9/6)?
I was thinking of something 80 to 100kms @ 28s pace leaving at 6:30, but I could be convinced of leaving at 6am.
Not really sure where to go at this stage.
Hopefully the weather will get better over the weekend and it will be a good day for a ride.

Re: Are you a Joomla or Web Design person - Your club needs
Hi Stuart I just saw the post on FB and remember that last year a ride leader from Slowies (I think it was Jo) asked me something about it. Yes, it is a huge upgrade. Depending of the website and components it is sometimes easier to rebuild it from scratch. If all external components are compatible ...
