I hear that is equates to 15 penalties for unsafe passing, about the same as one cyclist would get in a single training ride. I'm betting that all of those 15 penalties were given out where video evidence was submitted and the cyclist had to push very hard for the notice to be given

24" rear wheel needed for cargo bike
I've scored a cargo bike which needs a new front wheel. Getting the band brake off I've discovered its a screw-on, ie has a rear wheel hub.
So has anyone got a 24" rear wheel they don't want? Or have seen a 24" bike put out for council collection?

Re: Cycling Lane on Carrington Road
Unfortunately the give way signs on the bike path are a necessary evil. When driving my cage I'm often turning right onto Carrington coming from Wolliies and the bike path visibility is particularly poor, in part due to the tree. It only one cage with someone behind he wheels with less than perfect ...

I've raced this race every year since I started racing. The longest entries have been open is until the end of the day and the shortest was something like 4 minutes. Get on at 9am and book your spot

Re: Missing the point on the new cycling laws
Other cyclists have been fined for going thru red lights, those lights are pedestrian lights at Moore Park where the cycleway is broken by a pedestrian light that has no bicycle lantern. The only way to legally get across is to dismount and walk across. Those doing Saturday slowies, check out the li...

Re: Sprint Specific Ergo Session Ideas
Your fast twitch fibres will have something like a 15 second duration (varies). To focus the training primarily on these you need to short maximal efforts and then allow a short period of time for them to recover. For example 15 second sprints, 45 seconds rest. Repeat 12 times. A little off topic bu...

2016 DHBC Individual Time Trial Championship Sunday 7th August
In 2015 we ran the first of the annual DHBC Individual Time Trial (ITT) championship's at Calga and all involved had a great time. This year its on again, the date has been set for the first Sunday in August, ie the 7th, so lock that date in your calendar and come on out. For those who have never ra...

Re: Missing the point on the new cycling laws
That's what I understood, however from the banter I've read I'm wondering if there has been a shiftI believe the law says that cyclists are to use a bike lane 'unless it is impracticable to do so'. Those are the words that will be under scrutiny if one was to be fined for not using a cycleway.

Re: Missing the point on the new cycling laws
Wheel and pedal reflectors are mandatory in WA even if the bike is a fully enclosed recumbent. The law can been catered for by sticking a bit of reflective tap to your rim and the back of the pedals, though I'm not sure how it would go onto double sided SPD's. There seems to be some rumblings that i...

Re: Missing the point on the new cycling laws
Well said Stuart. For the new fines, some are the same as for a motor vehicle, despite the huge disparity in danger to others. And rather than getting rid of out dated laws, as did SA, they have increased the fine. Apparently its safe to ride on the footpath if you are accompanying a minor under 12 ...

People were fined for riding on the footpath in the blitz. Most likely those who lack the confidence to ride in the traffic. The Blitz had little to do with safety

Re: WTB 12 tooth track cog
46 - 13 should be fine, that's about the same as 50 - 14. http://www.bikecalc.com/gear_inches
48 - 14 is probably the most common gear with some riding 49 - 14 or 50 - 14
I recall a few years back that Alan Whiteman (Fenpaddler) had a 13 lying around

What I did was buy a base bar and use clip-ons, an inexpensive solution. While the hardware itself is not as aero as an integrated design, it allows for a lot more adjustment. Suggest this avenue if no one comes up with a suitable offering
