Re: Tour De France Tipping Competition

Can we elect a rider who we think will definitely go out to drugs for bonus points? It is a tipping comp after all...
Great idea. I'll include it, but only on condition that you lose points if your prediction is wrong.

I'll be there too. I got snowed under with end of financial year committments, and I'm only just resurfacing now. Other good news is that I've put some work into designing a tipping comp. It's a bit more challenging than just picking the winner of each day's stage, and it should reward people who do...

Tour De France Tipping Competition

Roll up for the inaugural TDF tipping comp. The teams have finally been announced, and published today, so the comp can start. Everyone can enter, especially members and friends of DHBC. No cost to enter, but that’s mainly because we don’t have any prizes yet. I’m working on prizes, and it’ll probab...

Many riders will be over at Tempe this Saturday Bill for part II of the Omnium Series. You're welcome to race, but I think numbers will be down.

Well sort of lucky... I've been collecting a stack of rare parts which were destined to go on an equally rare frame, which is supposed to be coming from Germany. Only trouble is that the frame seller has gone AWOL. The parts are all nice, but they are somewhat useless without the frame, and I haven'...

James did the fastest time, but I'm pretty pleased that I did a sub 6 min lap. I usually do a 3 lap timetrial, which I try to do in under 20 min. I usually average around 6.20ish per lap when I do that. I did a couple of warmup laps today, which I didn't time, then jumped straight in, figuring a fla...

Those birds you saw, bouncing along in their short shorts, were distracting, but also highly visible. Weiyun has a legitimate concern with those small black birds, which I believe are called cootes. My advice is to train yourself not to brake for birds, which are light for their size due to the need...

This was on the news last night. I didn't get to see it, but heard all about it when I got home. No actual news on the stage or GC. Just the stack footage.

Hey toff Do you know what a hook turn is ?

We should practise some hook turns.
Yes, and I don't need to practice them since I have no plans to cycle in Melbourne.

I'd like to come, but since the Tour will be on in the evening, that's a long day to be asking for a pink slip for. Might have to choose one or the other.

We have a winner! Nice work fixedgear. I just realised I made a mistake though... The saddle is a 1987 Selle Italia Campionissimo Fausto Coppi Limited Edition Saddle. In my haste to poste the next clue, I confused Coppi & Moser in my head. They both start with F...!?! So I gave Francesco Moser a...

You have the correct vintage, Camilla. I like the open nose on the CX, which was designed to allow cool air to flow up your ...um... legs whilst riding. There are some nice gold ones too.

last clue:

Saddle takes its name from a very famous cyclist from the late 70s, and early 80s.
