It doesnt have to be steel. Although steel is preferred.
Remember we have a Concourse category for Road bicycles 1986 to present. That would include carbon.

Ultrasonic cleaner for old, dirty bike parts?

Notice some people use these units to clean dirty bike parts. Also read somewhere that these units can break down aluminum, however not been able to verify this.

Aldi will be selling a unit for $25 from the 2nd Feb.

Re: $39 bicycle repair stand @ Aldi

I just use mine for light stuff, mostly on weekends. At $39 it wont carry a pig of a bike. However I often leave my 13kg commuter on it for a week at a time. It appears to hold it up competently. However I bought mine from Aldi last year and cannot confirm it this years version is as robust.

$39 bicycle repair stand @ Aldi

Aldi will sell a Bicycle Repair Stand, one of those large tripod things which you clamp your bike top tube off, like in your LBS. I bought one about a year ago and love it.
Only $39.99 and going on sale on Saturday 24 Nov.

Were they riding fixie's or penny's?
This was 1903, so they'd be riding 'Safety' bicycles, very similar to what we ride today. The old penny farthing went out of vogue by the mid to late 1880s. They'd be using fixed wheels, even though freewheels were available back then, but very expensive.

Haha thanks, doesn't look as bad as it felt I'll tell you that much :P
I was the 3rd rider past you and I heard a soft thud. With hindsight it sounded like you hit the ground relatively hard.
Funny watching it back on video. The sprint up that hill always feels faster than it looks in real life.

I regard myself a 'cyclist'. Been commuting regularly since 2003 and never had a crash. Joined the DHBC in August 2011 and had 2 crashes (one bad one, 1 very small spill with Christian). Also another during a commute while thinking of the club (bad luck?). In other words, if you want to stay safe, D...

How'd you get dropped, were you doing too much work on the front or rubber-banding on the back? Personally I find it easier to stay in the first 6 or 10 riders, you have to do turns on the front but you don't have to keep accelerating after corners in the rubber band. Largely due to inexperience an...
