Bike: A Raceline bike I bought years ago. Was all aluminum originally, but had it re-painted last year and replaced the old forks with carbon. Shimano ultegra fit out. Frame was re-painted and I made the social mistake of having my name put on the bike.
I use this one as a commuting bike, on old Raceline frame complete with original flat silver handle bars, but the rest of it is new with Shimano Deore XT gear and new wheels. And really spivvy slick tyres.

I'm Eleri and currently President following in the footsteps of all the fine chaps who have gone before me and helped build the club and its culture.
You'll find me on pretty regularly on the Wednesday morning rides out to La Perouse and as ride leader once a month with Saturday Slowies and to Waterfall or on other Waterfall or RNP rides. Sometimes I'll be on an Adventure Ride.
Sometimes you'll find me on an Audax ride like the Alpine Classic in Bright, or Fitz's Classic or over on the north side gorges or some other epic long ride. I'm all endurance and not much sprint.
Or maybe you'll find me racing with Waratah Vets, any other women's B Grade crit when I can find one or racing with enthusiasm if not sprint speed at Dunc Gray Velodrome on a Friday night for RAW track over winter (the best fun ever).
I'm on Strava in the DHBC club group and on twitter @EleriMT where you will find an odd mix of social justice and cycling tweets.
My day job is in community services with Mission Australia, sometimes you'll see me talking about homelessness or some such in the media.
Bikes:
- Black and red custom titanium Baum with Di2 and 650c wheels
- Black steel custom Bobo also with 650c wheels
- White Bianchi track bike 700c wheels
- Black custom steel frame built by Wayne Kotzur and based on a Georgena Terry WSD - current a fixie conversion project
Best known for:
Sending you emails about what the club has been up to in the last month.
At the start of Amy's Gran Fondo in Lorne, Victoria 2013 about to go for my first ride on the Baum having picked it up the afternoon before.

Bike: Cilla Black - still shiney and new single-speed
Recently got back in the saddle after a (rather long) hiatus. Am very much enjoying the Saturday morning slowie rides - despite the rain and cold. Have been given much sound advice and encouragement from the DHBC riders, which is greatly appreciated. On that note, a special thank you to Tim who is convinced I can do the Waterfall ride on the trusty single-speed. :]

Pub Bike - 1988 CT3000 Miyata with Shimano RX100 (bought for $70 at a garage sale)
Cycling Background:
I started cycling in Canberra with a Triathlon Club in late 2005 having won a bike while I lived in the UK in 2004 (long story). I was not a fan of swimming or running but loved the cycling. Life and work changed and the cycling stopped. In 2010 I started riding again doing some more rides with friends and tried racing with the local ACT veterans. I loved the racing. Just as I was getting into the riding more life and career changes saw me move to Sydney in mid 2011 and the cycling stopped again as I learnt a new job. I joined DHBC in late 2011 and started doing the slowies ride and Waterfall with the C28s.
In Feb 2012 I got a new bike, my beloved S5. I set myself a new goal and in May bought a prize won by a Sydney cyclist doing the gong ride for a weeks riding in the Pyrenees for the last week of the 2012 Tour de France. Having averaged 60-90km a week for the preceding 9 months I tried cramming my training with little success. I rode the Pyrenees 530km and 18,000m climbing in 6 days. I was the least fit in the group at the start and Sydney's flat roads had not helped me get over Hors Category climbs - it hurt! I achieved the 6th slowest time on Strava getting up the Tourmalet which took me 2hrs and 45mins at an average of 6.1kph (I never stopped though). By the end of 6 days I was riding mid pack in the tour group and feeling better on the bike.
I came back fitter and with an even stronger passion for cycling and have been racking up the kms and rides since. I have done many of the clubs adventure rides or events including the Johnny Warren ride earlier this year. I am off to France again in July, this time to ride the Alps and see the last week of the centenary edition of le grand bouche.
I also enjoy good food, fine wine and travel.

Bicycles:
Road - 2012 Cervelo S5 SRAM Red Zipp 101 (I love this bike!);
Road - 2004 Specialized Allez Comp SRAM Rival (replaced the 9 speed Ultegra) or "The Commuter" (Won in a competition!)
Track - 2011 Cervelo T1 - reward to myself after surviving riding the Pyrenees in 2012
TT - 2005 Cervelo P3C - Bought 2nd hand February this year as a project to build up and race (yet to race it)
Pub Bike - 1988 CT3000 Miyata with Shimano RX100 (bought for $70 at a garage sale)
Giant Iguana SE MTB
Best known for: probably being Jeremy's little brother and buying all the wrong gear unless he is there to advise me.
Location: Wollstonecraft - I appear to be one of the few red jerseys North of the bridge, it allows me some sneaky extra k's but can be slow on the way home
Cycling Background:
Have always ridden bikes but the frequency has ebbed and flowed. My early interest was in the longest skids that I could, moved on to my first job riding around the suburbs delivering medicine for the chemist. I did a bit of trail riding over the years and a bit of commuting. There was a brief period where I was faster than Jere and I took him riding till he spewed but at the rate he flys past me I don't think that will ever happen again. I always made fun of the lycra and swore never to ride anything but a mtb - but one ride down the cooks river cycle path on a racing bike last year changed that. I have been doing Lapa, Waterfall, slowies and some adventure rides, one of my first rides was Johny Warren last year. Loving it all and slowly getting better and stronger. I also do a bit of running and swimming and recently did my first olympic tri (I know its a dirty word) so enjoying that aspect as well.
I have been lurking on the forum for ages but thought it was time to make an appearance, I am hopeless with names so please tell me yours repeatedly.

Hello all,
I've been a member of the DHBC for since December last year. I'm fairly new to cycling and bought my first bike in October 2012. That hasn't stopped me training very hard, doing about 250-300 kms weekly. mostly in bunch training. I also train twice weekly with the Velosophy crew. I'm normally out on Sunday's Waterfall with the middies and have done a few races Sunday's with the Waratah's recently progressed from D grade to C grade.
I'm a father of 3 extremely energetic boys, including 7 year old twins.
I'm really enjoying the club rides and the emphasis on safety. With the other bunches I train with I often get feedback that our riders know what they are doing.
Well done to all.
Simon Fitzgerald.

Started riding in July 2012 when I bought my first road bike. After a few setbacks I have gradually improved from initially freaking out about riding on the road at Saturday Slowies. Now I ride to Kurnell, Waterfall c25s and trying to hang on in the 28s. I am now really enjoying riding and the social banter that goes along with it. Oh, and I'm married to Todd.

Hello everyone! My name is Paul and I am currently working for a bicycle parts manufacturer (Would like to keep the name private)
I am currently doing research in the Retro and Classic bicycle sectors and I have to say I am getting more and more hooked by classic road and touring bikes. I just recently rediscovered cycling and must say it’s awesome.
Some of my other hobbies are Travel, Fishing, Treasure Hunting and Collecting
There is one question I would like to ask to the moderators, I am currently creating an online survey (Combined with a prize draw) to get more information about the classic and retro market and its demand. Do you think this would be allowed to post on this forum?
Cheers,
Paul

Unfortunately spend much of my time rehabilitating too many cyclists who come to hospital with shocking injuries. Still hasn't put me off though, just a bit more careful sometimes as a result.
Lots of riding as a kid until my uncle got me back into mountain biking last year and bought 2 bikes in one hit... and expensive weekend!
