Here's the date for no. 4 of the DHBC omnium series...

Where: Tempe Velodrome

When: Saturday, 6th of September 2008

What time: Gates open 1pm for a 2pm start, sharp.

Likely finish time: 5pm

Events: flying 200m, 5km graded scratch race based on numbers, 3km pursuit, points race- possibly graded depending on time restraint & 1km time trial

Who can come: Everyone! With the omnium format there is something for everyone and over 50% of racing is timetrialling so you won't be dropped or unable to compete!!!

talk to lindsey, in saying that, youd be better off if you did at least some riding on the track before hand, talk to lindsey about that as well though :D

Going strait into a race day when you havent been on the track isnt the safest thing, in saying that there are other things that you can go in on the day for newer riders.

Depends what it is your after

Hey Guys,

If there is an opportunity I would love to participate in the Novices section for the Omnium, if I can also borrow a bike that would be great. I have trained on the Thursday sessions with you for the last few weeks, and very keen to give it a go!!!
Cheers
Mark :D

Thanks Lindsay, I'm assuming thats for omnium #3 as #4 hasn't happened yet. BTW there's an error with Points score 15, placings were;
1. Simon
2. Michael C
3. James
4. Julian, Ky ? Christian can confirm.

I'm not sure of the order for 15 in the points score. Thats the lap where I didn't realise it was a sprint, so I just sat on the back. My Kilo time is missing as well, although I don't think it was anything to write home about 1.24 or something close to that. I'm quite inpressed by me 3km pursuit time, it may have been 22.79 seconds slower then Simon, but its still the second fastest. I think I'll have less luck net time if Huw is there.

There's an error in the scratch race too. An extra Chris snuck between me and Christian. Not sure who lost a lap to the bunch in the points race either, apart from Simon being way in front, it was Christian, Ky, Me, and Louie at the end (don't think i missed anyone).

yay. I'm looking forward to it... although I'm not sure if I'll do all the races as I'm still recovering from the flu.

Unless there's a miracle the omnium will be cancelled this afternoon. Instead we will be doing rollers for about an hour starting at 2pm. Everybody is invited. I'll try and think of something interesting to do in terms of regime, probably a mix of sprinting & heart rates of some kind, maybe even an omnium on rollers...

Well the omnium didn't quite go to plan but we still had a good roller session.
