Sorry for the late notice, but I"ve been a bit buys. There's an omnium this Saturday, I"m aware it's the long weekend, so we'll have a bbq. Details as below:

Where: Tempe Velodrome

When: Saturday, 4th of October 2008

What time: Gates open 1pm for a 2pm start, sharp.

Likely finish time: 5pm

Events: flying 200m, 5km graded scratch race based on numbers, 3km pursuit, points race- possibly graded depending on time restraint & 1km time trial

Who can come: Everyone! With the omnium format there is something for everyone and over 50% of racing is timetrialling so you won't be dropped or unable to compete!!!

My son and his mate have asked to see a race at the velodrome. I might bring them along

I'm unfit, fat and sore, but I'll be there! Plus hopefully a friend of mine (and Wallman) who's interested in riding track.

Wallman, will you be there? I've been thinking about seeing that bike in action again. The "Vector" isn't it called?

I think it was the "Vortex!"

Did you get your front wheel and saddle sorted out yet?

If the track is wet which it more than likely will be, we will be having a roller session @ 2pm at Tempe velodrome. doors opening @ 1:30pm. Then we'll head to the German club for drinks....

I'm on hols Huw and am currently chilling out in a Melbourne laundromat. Will be back in another couple of weeks but after 3 weeks off the bike I'm not sure I'll be able to show off Geoff's Vortex as well as I'd like. I'll definately be keen for the next omnium though.

Simon you'll be very sorry to hear that my BT connection here is a no go...

Matt

My CrackBerry has me online 24/7 unfortunately so the laundry was in Northcote rather than needing to be on Brunswick.

Brunswick Street's the place to be for Track forum readers though. There's about 1 fixie to every 5 dork bikes by my count! I can't cross an intersection without wading through a phalanx of trackstanding hipsters!

Yes they worship bicycles down there. Check out this story from the age:
