Conti Supersonics

I've ordered some Conti Supersonic tyres for my track bike.

They came in 20mm and 23mm and are rated for much higher pressures and less puncture resistance. I decided to be conservative and get the 23mm tyre.

Is there any rule of thumb with the width of clincher track tyres?
