Pinarello Ideas
That's just amazing! When are you going to get your full chrome frame?
Ian from Slowies (the guy wearing the video camera during the Gong ride), already has the Pinarello. I suggested he could clean off the paint and go natural chrome like in the first picture set. Most Colnagos are also fully chromed under the paint, so I could eventually decide to give one of my bikes the same treatment...
Are there quality differences in chrome treatments? Anyone do them economically here in Sydney?
I can't do anything right today it seems. That previous post should read "NOT definitely decided on the colour", though the coppi is pretty delicious.
I went over to the Canterbury Road chromeworks, but it's just a hole in the ground. They're developing the site.
I had to take the frame over to a place in Tarren Point instead. Should have it back by next week some time to take to the sprayshop.
Here's some more eye-candy....

If you want C-Record or Super Record in good condition, you will need to be prepared to pay big $$$ and take it whenever you find it. I've got a bit of a network of suppliers from all over the world. (Germany, Hungary, Italy.) Most of these people have some sort of online presence, and often sell through ebay, although I try to avoid buying off ebay these days.
I've also got some spare bits which I'll be letting loose soon. (Mainly 1994 C-Record).
If you are happy with lesser groupsets, you can get some absolute bargains by cruising ebay for complete bikes where the seller doesn't know what he is selling. I've seen a few bikes recently sell for around $300 equiped with complete Campagnolo Victory or Triomphe groupsets. (Sharp edges everywhere instead of smooth flowing curves like C-Record. Very distinctly 80s ~Produced in 86 & 87. The sharp edges make for a crisp look, which can be stunning on a tidy frame.)

Thanks for that Toff. Let me know when you're letting your stuff go.
I guess I can always put a new groupset on if I have to. My main lookout is for a complete headset, as I believe that Campy don't do the 1" threaded anymore. I may be forced onto ebay yet!
