For the December Christmas omnium it has been decided that since the month of December is chocker with opens and state title events we will run the omnium on boxing day. I realise that boxing day may either be a great day for an omnium or really inconvenient day but it was either this or the 22nd or 29th of December which may not be much better?

As it is the Christmas omuim we will have to do it in the spirit of the season so there will definitely either be a bbq or trip to the pub/german club and some alterations will be made to the program...

Where: Tempe Velodrome

When: Friday, 26th of December 2008

What time: Gates open 1pm for a 2pm start, sharp.

Likely finish time: 5pm

Events: Depending on numbers & organisers brain capcity to come up with something Christmasy.

Who can come: Everyone! With the omnium format there is something for everyone and we always have a begginers event which is safe for those who have never riden the track or still feel abit uncomfortable!!!

I'll be in Griffith this year over Christmas, so I'm out, but I think that Boxing day is a great day for a track day, and would be there for sure if I was in town.

I'll be coming back to Sydney on Christmas day, so I'll be there. I could be a touch hung over, but with any luck I won't be the only one.

I like Simon's idea which is the winner of each race has to drink 4 beers, or 1 champagne if a girl miraculously wins. After simon and the rest of you boys win your first few races, the rest of us might have a shot of winning or either be the last ones upright.

Yep - Stu and I will be there.

I'm still working out what the events will be but its likely there will be a madison (probably not full lenght), I'm also thinking a mystery points race plus probably some other hadicapped events such as a wheel race, handicapped missing out and we can do some more traditional omnium events or sprint events depending on what people who come along want to do....

But there definitely will be a bbq.

If the Boxing Day test could be on somewhere in the background, that would be quite excellent. Ted might even show up then! Is it doable?

im feeling more confident about throwing people in in the madison now.
Who on earth is slow enough, but good enought to swing people, enough, to race with simon and it be fair though?!

i should be able to get to the tack on Monday for some last minute swinging practice, but i'm not sure who would be slow enough to go with Simon.

You can always just listen to it on ABC radio 702 - much easier than a TV.

I'm happy to provide the TV, just need someone to pick it from my place in Tempe.

More importantly, what events are we doing ?

Hey cheers guys, that was alot bigger than what we were expecting but luckily me & James are big on lots of food so we bought enough. I was particularly excited about the fact we had a women's grade! I didn't expect that to happen for a while to come if ever.

I will talk to the team & we will discuss the idea of a later start to the omniums as it really is better not to race in the peak of sun in summer. We just want to try and avoid using the lights if we can. So possibly a 4pm start for the next one? But we'll discuss it.

That must be a pretty damn hot camera you got for Christmas, because those pictures are excellent.
