Mate i recon that would be an awesome workout if someone's willing to build one! Though it would be a bit of an uneven wash on sprint training nights!

Changing the topic, what happens if you take someone out of their sport and put them in another sport?

Simon, this is the post I was referring to
A guy on Bike Forums took these aero numbers out of Tour Magazine.
They tested Uwe Peschel with all the different aero bits.
Required output to maintain 45 kph on a:
Standard road bike, hands on hoods = 465 Watts
Same bike, hands down on the drops = 406 watts
Same bike with aero bars = 369 Watts
Same bike, triathlon position (5.5 cm lower bar, saddle forwards)= 360 Watts
Same bike, as above, with 2 tri spoke wheels = 345 Watts
Cervelo TT bike with 2 tri spoke wheels = 328 Watts
Cervelo TT bike with tri spoke front & disk rear = 320 Watts
Cervelo TT bike, tri spoke front & disk rear + aero helmet = 317 Watts
Cervelo TT bike, same as above + skin suit = 307 Watts
Cervelo TT bike, same as above, with saddle pushed back 3cm = 293 Watts
From 465 to 293 watts!! That's obviously a reduction of 172 Watts just from aero stuff, and the suggestion is that the aero Cervelo TT frame made a difference of 17 Watts

It's a massive difference isn't it? But with the last one they actually move their saddles forward not backwards to get more power into the pedals. If you watch the flying scotsman film which is coming out this month, they change the rules to stop him from winning & one thing is the saddle position back. So he cuts off the front of the saddle to comply....

Yes Simon, I initially questioned that figure. Moving the saddle forward permits to generate more power. However they are implying that moving the saddle backwards provides less resistance and there requires less power.
It seems to me that a forward saddle, permitting you to generate more power is the way to go. Perhaps that same aerodynamic advantage can be acheived by using a longer stem.

Thanks Lindsay, much appreciated. Did you happen to notice what else was damaged?I've got some wheels to work on...
BTW, how was Saturday slowies and Heffron today?
I observed Lindsay enjoying a lovely social chat during the Slowies ride. Beautiful weather.
Saturday Slowies was good. Priority number is we make it home through the evil Saturday traffic alive which we did. Actually the warm weather caught us by suprise and on the way in by the time we got to Newtown we were starting to un-zip/get rid of jackets etc. Louie had to get his arm/leg warmers off on the way home.
Mike - Your handlebar tape took a hit, but I've got some I can stick on, otherwise no other damage.

Heffron C grade report from another forum;
Sounds like it fractured.Hey Mike...well I would have been no use at hefron today...it was windy and a good turn out (25ish)...but I got dropped at 4 to go and there were only 7 left ahead of me.My av for the 34mins was 178/max 190 and I was only at the back.2 went away quite early and stayed away...I think my performance has more to do with lack of fitness than a hard race,but still must of been reasonably hard.

I'll be back
Actually today. Tailed 20 metres behind for most of the ride.

I pulled out of the waterfall ride at brighton this morning cause of the rain. I didn't have a waterproof jacket so I wasnt going to risk it. Luckly I made up for it this afternoon doing a few rounds of Sydney Olympic Park in the glorious sunshine.
Saw the rain storm on the doppler radar over Sutherland and surround around 7-7:30am... Ummm.

Um, there were 9 of us at Bobos, although it was debated whether your actions should result in disqualification.yes, 12 of us went out to Waterfall today (would have been 13 'eh Adrian!) and got very wet in the first 1 hour. After that we dried off substantially and still 7 of use made it to Bobos.
Joanne was stoked with her PB - 28.3kph average.

I have a theory about that... Everyone gets up at about 6am & gets ready for their ride. Over the Eastern Suburbs it was raining so they went back to bed. Meanwhile over the Inner West it was dry so we made the call to ride. And that's how we ended up with a good bunch and they didn't & that's how we got wet & they didn't.From what I saw, our club had the biggest turnout.

Your probably right Lindsay.
Actually the rain wasn't that bad, in that it wasn't the freezing or sand blasting kinds.
BTW, where does SCC start from?

Can we deduce from this whether riders check the precipitation status of their planned route using technology before the ride? Or do riders trust their "look up" test more?I have a theory about that... Everyone gets up at about 6am & gets ready for their ride. Over the Eastern Suburbs it was raining so they went back to bed. hey mike im getting more into those squats, whats your top weight?
(im not actually progressing verry quick, and cant lift heaps in the full squats, but am working on both)
Though we are sticking with the same weight a bit, only moving up a bit a week

Parallel Squats 60kg*5, 70kg*5, 80kg*5, 90kg*5 but I chickened out on the 90's and didn't go quite parallel, I've got not spotter and could be in trouble if I fail. Cos I was bored I did a set of half squats at 130kg*8.
Most I've done;
AFT squat 60kg*10 (I think, I might of done 70kg)
Parallel squat 90kg*5
Half squat 150kg*8
Lunge 100kg*5 each leg
Calf raise 240kg*10 on smith machine with poor ROM
I've also done a squat routine of 50kg*80 that contains a series of different squats all done in one massive set.
Squats will come with time, I only started doing AFT and Parallel squats this year so I'm on a learning curve too
Focus on technique and definently do Parallel squats, don't worry about what weights others are doing, apart from curiosity.
If you are interested in strengthening specific muscles, let me know and I can show you a specific exercise.

No need for computers, heart rate monitors, power meters to judge your performance, there is now a point scoring method, based on your interaction with the other riders you encounter;
