Hi,
As much as i loved the ride on Sunday, i had a crash on the return part and now im experiencing upper arm/low shoulder pain and swelling. The first 24 hours i didnt notice it, it was only yesterday (monday) afternoon that i noticed i had pain in that area.
i can lift my arm over my head and out to the side and in front of me ok, so im hoping its not to serious.
Ive taken ibeprofen to help with the swelling and am currently icing it.
Im now on the look out for a good Dr in the enmore/newtown area if possible - or just a good Dr close by.
any recomendations would be great.
Thanks,
Amy.

Don't know about a GP, but I can highly recommend Central Sydney Osteopathy, 7 Northumberland Avenue, Stanmore on 9557 3176. I've been seeing Rachel for my dislocated AC joint injury with great results.
They can also arrange X-rays which would be a good idea.

No personal recommendations in the Newtown area but the small group practice at 93 Balmain Rd, Leichhardt (9550-0288) is solid.

Hi Amy, I went for years with a shoulder injury and it didn't get fixed until I saw a shoulder specialist.
Early days yet for it, but if the problem persists, don't put up with it, get yourself a referral to a shoulder specialist.

Be careful with that logic.Early days yet for it, but if the problem persists, don't put up with it, get yourself a referral to a shoulder specialist.
Acute injuries are generally easier to manage. But if delayed and managed incorrectly, it's easy to become a chronic problem, one that can never be cured.
So there's good rationale to have it worked up thoroughly and quickly.

The docs at Edgeware Family Practice do a good job keeping me alive.

Active Physiotherapy in Newtown are tops.
Inner West Osteopathy on Hordern St Newtown has helped me too.
And Weiyun is spot on - get this looked at ASAP. If I had seen good doctors faster on a couple of occasions I would be a much healthier person today!
