PRINCES HIGHWAY between Farnell Ave, Loftus and Kooraban St, Waterfall road
works
Lanes closed: Breakdown lane, both directions
From: 8:30am on Sun 03 April 2010
To: 5:00pm on Sun 02 May 2010
RTA advice: Road works will be undertaken by RTA to widen the breakdown
lane and implement a 3m bike lane.
Other advice: Due to presence of heavy equipments and resurfacing works,
all bicycle traffic along this section are to detour through ROYAL NATIONAL
PARK.

Yes, but are they going to sweep it regularly? Also, if they put in a barrier it may make it hard for groups to overtake, esp newbies.Great news about the 3m bicycle lane though - that rocks!
It seems to me that a lot of this development in recent years is more a response to motorists demands that cyclists be kept off their roads.
I've seen so many stuff-ups by councils that end up making roads even more dangerous for cyclists that I reserve my enthusiasm till I've seen it.
