Is the RNP ride on this Sunday? Anyone doing it? Might be a last chance before daylight saving kicks in again and before the Gong ride.

I beg to differ

Only because if I feel good on the day, I'll have the option of going all the way to stanwell tops.

How do you return from Stanwell Tops? Do you still have to go through RNP?

Only if I'm feeling super strong on the day. I have done this several times. But generally, I get on the princes highway at Helensburgh and enjoy the wind in my face on the fast return leg...

I'll have to look into that as if I should go crazy and decide to ride back from the Gong, then I really need to know how to get back.

If you're referring to 4 Nov., I'll be riding back from the Gong. We can piddle back together at a leasurely pace.

We had a record turn out this morning with 11 people doing the RNP ride. Its nice to be reminded what real hills look like.

I can't wait for the next RNP ride.

Looking at my ride log, I was surprised it has been 6 months since my last RNP ride. Where have I been? :?

Adrian, you can always do it every week...

I slept through my alarm, didn't actually turn it completely off until 6:10am. Was a bit too tired after staying up to watch the rugby last night, but there'll always be other times.

I could have gone to the 6.30 ride, but i decided more sleep before work would be better. I didn't have enough sleep the night before either.

Yeah, numbers were so good we essentially had a defacto Slowies, Midpacers, and Fasties group today - all in one bunch!

The 200km return ride down to the Gong in 4 weeks time is starting to worry me. So anyone keen to ride the RNP this Sun, 14 Oct? Might even be willing to try out the loop down to Helensburg.

I was told you climbed like a goat last Sunday. You have nothing to worry about.

In any case, if you are keen on some weekend climbing, I'll be happy to join you. Will never pass up an opportunity to go through the park. In at Audley and out at Helensburgh is fine by me. Let me know the start time.

Goat? Are you kidding? Couldn't even get close to you guys! And I need to practice descents a bit more.

Will aim for 6am start at Mick's. Weather looked to be favourable on Sunday again. :)

Cool. I might do one of two things. start with you at Mick's, or latch on at Sutherland at the Audley entrance to the RNP. Is that fine by you?

For safety reasons, I would prefer not to ride solo if it can be avoided. Yet again, it doesn't make sense for you to ride 30mins to get to Mick's. So let's see if anyone else is going to participate. We can talk off-line if it's just going to be the two of us.

If I get my fixie wheel fixed (pun intended), I'll do the normal ride, otherwise I'll come with you.

Are you intending to go into the park at Waterfall and then turn right to Stanwell Tops and loop back past Hellensberg to Waterfall?

BTW, I've ridden up by myself at 6am no problems, car traffic is lighter than for the 6.30am ride and there are a reasonable number of other riders on the road.

No confirmation on the routing. May just do the regular RNP loop also. We can get a consensus on the ride.
