Hi all, this is a favourite of mine; the One hour omnium challenge!!!
Riders should aim to complete a full omnium (flying 200ms, 10km scratch race, 3km pursuit, 20km points race and 1km TT) in less than 60 minutes. To do this; events will have to run back to back with more than one rider on the track at a time during the time trials and riders must average over 34kms an hour. No champion will be crowned but all riders who can complete the overal goal will be a champion!!!!
Where: Tempe velodrome
When: Saturday the 20th of August
What time: Racing will start at 4pm, gates will probably open about an hour earlier.
Who can come: Racing is designed and sanctioned for everyone in the club with a racing licence.
Races: proper omnium.
Grades: all riders welcome, decided on the day but will be something for everybody.
Prizes: A 6 pack of amber sports drink to be awarded to the biggest contributor to finishing in under an hour. However this must be consumed with the bbq before going home.

I'm keen. Nothing like a good challenge.
I've also booked a 140km fixed ride (Scarborough and back) for that morning, so this is really going to test me out.

Yeah I really enjoyed that! I think I've finally got the hang of how the sprinter's lane works too.
Great to have some fast juniors there keeping us "elite" riders on our toes. And beating us!
