Run, walk, swim, stationary bike, indoor soccer, weight training... And the list goes on.

That's pretty awsome Tim, its not easy to translate cycle fitness into running fitness
running - i run home twice a week (5k's) rain hail or shine and aim for sub 5 mins a k ... it sucks i hate it but it does keep the fitness there ... just make sure you have good shoes and i started out walking and slowly increased the amount of running. I also do it tues and thurs so as to allow some recovery due to the different muscles / potential for joint damage.
