Hi All,
Due to the Sydney to Gong Ride this weekend, the Sunday morning Waterfall rides have been cancelled this Sunday 4th November.
Instead, Geoff Martin has offered to take a C28's+ ride to the Eastern Suburbs. This will be leaving the Marrickville Rd. Cafe at 6:30am.
Please note, we made a decision not to run this ride at C25's pace as there will likely be more traffic in this area and so do so for safety reasons. We also suggest that this is not a ride suitable for those new to bunch riding.
I understand there is also Waratah's Masters racing at Lansdowne for those that are interested.
Congratulations to the DHBC team for raising nearly $10,000 for the MS Society! Good Luck on Sunday.
Regards,
Jo

Nooooooooothe Sunday morning Waterfall rides have been cancelled this Sunday 4th November.
I missed the last 3 waterfall runs and was looking forward to this weeks one. Need a fix, need a fix .....
Masters riders with a race license: Trouty & I are going racing with Waratah Masters at Lansdowne - if you've got a race license it's a great morning out. C, D & E grade ready to race at 7:45am on the purpose built, hotmixed 2k crit track (A & B at 9:00am). You should come along Marc2131 - race D with me and you could place if you can sprint (although they may put you in C with Jo - just claim you hardly ever race and it's your first Waratah's event etc etc ).

here's a typical D grade finish at Lansdowne

Would prefer to do grade D. Would be nice to stay with the group and get a feel of the race. Couldn't do that at my last foray at Heffron in the C grade, 2 weeks ago.
How are people getting there? Will probably take a train to Leightonfield Station and ride in. Anyone taking this option too?

What about a (6am start) from Cafe to Bobbin Head / Akuna Bay ride as an alternative - if someone who knows the way and has a decent sense of direction (unlike me)?
Akuna Bay and West Head route - click for biggies
Out
- Marrickville to Harbour bridge - 9k - Harbour bridge thru Spit Bridge - 10k - Wakhurst parkway to Powderworks rd - 17K
Around
- Powderworks rd to Akuna bay - 25k - Akuna bay to West head - 16k - West head to Narrabeen - 27k
Back
- Narrabeen to Spit Bridge 14k - Spit Bridge back to the city via Parri rd - 9k - then Home - 9k
As it's your first race with vets just tell them you don't ride much and it's your first race. They should put you in D. Trouty can back you up It will be my first race in D.Hmmmm very tempted. We'll be driving there. Others may be going as well. here's E grade from my last race http://connect.garmin.com/activity/196812614

I'm out.
Had a little spill outside Lewisham Stn yesterday, on the way home from work. Nothing bad but landed on one knee and pulled a muscle in a calf. Prefer to let it heal properly.

Go A grade, you get to sleep in an extra 1.25 hours
Was using my commuter 'Bob Jackson' bike. The frame is okay but I think the Cinelli bars are bent. Other than that, still rideable. Thinking of replacing them with the bullbars I bought from the WOOP festival swap meet a few weeks ago. Hmmmm.it's all well and good that you are ok, but how is the bike?
Also tempted by this. I assume you arrive and register on the morning? I couldn't find any notes on how to register on the website. Will look in the garage to see if my road bike is still in there.
just roll up with your race license and $15. They'll take a look at you and decide which grade to put you in. Then you can argue the point. Also tempted by this. Seeing as everyone else is going and I have nowhere else to go...
Successful morning at Lansdowne for the Club. Another well run Waratah meet.
