After describing the problems with my current Fixie frame, Bundy recommend I get an Alloy VISP frame. Recon's they are about $150.
Any views on frames?
Of course once you change the frame, the temptation is to do an entire build

Entire build. It will feel better and look better all nice and shiny!
MC has a MASI speciale fixie on special for $899. It's a solid frame. We just redid the bar tape to black because white sucks.

I don't really have any experience with fixie specific frames... all of my fixies have been hand-me-downs. Thanks Toff!

As with all bikes, you've got to watch the geometry. Right geometry for right conditions. Most track bikes have steeper head tubes and steeper fork rake which reduces the steering and is alright on a velodrome but abit inhibiting on the road. The alumnium might feel the road shock abit more than cr-moly steel too.
As it is a low end track bike may well have road geometry but check it out.

My first VISP suffered a broken chainstay after 6-9 months: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/v9lp23mp6hyn6kw/PWztGly7Q3
Have had a better run from the next one.

Simon, do you know geometry numbers? They are quoted towards the bottom of this page for the 790

Peter, I don't want to go for a retro road frame rebirth as I want a high bottom bracket
Alan, what model visp failed on you? Which model do you have now?

The forks it comes with weighs a ton - I swapped it for the carbon one from my broken felt dispatch fixie.
