There are some new Road Rules which are coming into effect soon.
The road rules affect bicycle riders.
These rules have some 'impact' on bunch riding so it is advisable for all member to make themselves aware.
You can view the rules on www.rta.nsw.gov.au
Look under rules regulations / road rules/australian road rules.

As far as I read it on a separate link, the key difference relates to our ability to make hook turns. Of course, that depends on councils painting a few more "storage boxes" at key intersections.
Apart from storage boxes, I hope they'll also extend their road sensors to those boxes. Or we can wait forever for the lights to change.
Don't forget that Unicycles are now classed as Wheeled Recreational Devices, so we can now ride them on the footpath.
After having read through them, I think they are going out of their way to make them deliberately obscure. I can also see why they say that motorists break the law every 12 seconds (or something ridiculous like that).

Not hard to believe. Just look at vehicle speed on all the major roads and 50 or 40kph residential roads. After having read through them, I think they are going out of their way to make them deliberately obscure. A drawn box on the road, around the stop line on intersections. What is a "bicycle storage area"???
Yes, a pretty weird term for what's it worth.
Actually, one is coming at an intersection near you! Soon.Yes, and I don't need to practice them since I have no plans to cycle in Melbourne.
But seriously, hook turns are much safer for a cyclist at major intersections. It avoids crossing right hand lanes.

The last rule seems to be aimed at an activity that I won't describe on the DHBC forum.
