Lets put this into perspective.Simon was beaten by a girl.
1.She rides a 11.15 flying 200m, at over 65km/hr
2. She qualified fourth at the worlds this year making her the 4th fastest female on the planet
3. She is probably faster than any male that races on Friday nights regularly
4. In my two encounters with her this season she is a very nice & polite racer & lets face it she looks fantastic on the bike from behind!!!!! There was no other rider who I would of prefered to see come flying past me last night!!!!

Hey on a more serious note we really need to increase our numbers for the last two weeks. We're only just holding off Randwick and St George in the point score. It sounds much better to be able to say that we finished top 5 than 6th or 7th.
So guys can everybody who is able try and make an appearance for the next two weeks. I'll try and get a few new people out there too. I think we were 16th last year, 5th place would mean an 11 place jump in a year!!! That would be a really excellent acheivement. But the most important thing is beating Randwick & St George, they're two of the biggest and most renound clubs in the state. So if we can beat them we will have some bragging rights....
Also I'm thinking we need a club photo to upgrade our track page on the website, so if we do that on the ast week.

ok we are only up by ten, and im out of weeks of points for not being there, so we need what ever number of people there now :S
They havent had all their riders there either (they being randwick)
(lol yes i want to beat randwick even if we are such good friends with so many members from there!)
its worth pointing out that st george won alot of races, and had a few seconds too! with double points they are catching!
they have nosh mystery plus saunders and that lad that wears the number 1!

Hey guys we really need a big effort this Friday night to get as many people out to Dunc Gray as possible. We've worked really hard to get into the top5 in the club point score and it would be a big shame to loose it so close to the end. The easiest way to defend is to get as many people out to Dunc on Friday night as possible.
Here's the photo sequence of Friday night which Crafty is emailing around showing my last encounter with Jin Jie Gong.
All riders grip the fence and bikes with vice like grip, all riders bar one
Llewellyn looks for the derny, whilst Jinjie has a wry smile on her face
The riders slot into position behind the derny.
Ian Gardner makes an break after the derny pulls off but is chased hard by Simon Llewellyn with the rest of the bunch on his wheel.
Llewellyn closes the gap and sprints for home
But in the last 50m Jinjie floats around the outside

I wasn't impressed with what happened in the div4 endurance race, this teenage girl shoved herself right next to Adrian (I was behind Adrian) and squeezed him, forcing him down onto the grey boards and stayed there for quite some time. You couldn't get handlebars any closer than that. I was just waiting to be collected by the pending accident, but hats off to Adrian for managing the situation so well.

What? What's a China National Team member doing there? Is FNWR gaining international prestige or what? And she is not even riding a Look...
Thanks for the praise Mike, but its very unbecoming of my new nickname:I was just waiting to be collected by the pending accident, but hats off to Adrian for managing the situation so well.
Apologies to John/Annoying for clipping his pedals in the poker race.

Friday night winter racing attracts all sorts of competitors, it is by far the most fun racing in NSW. The reason for the Teschner I've been told is that Sean Eaddie who is coaching Gong struck up a deal with the Chinese government to buy the bike while she was over here. She rode a Look at the World's & I"m not sure if the Tecshner was only for Australian use or if she will swap bikes...What? What's a China National Team member doing there? Is FNWR gaining international prestige or what? And she is not even riding a Look...
Thanks for the info Simon. I was suspecting that she might have been sent over for coaching. If she is now based in Sydney, we should try to invite her out for a ride with our club, Tempe maybe.

I know that Look, or rather the distributor of Look in China is the the official sponsor of the Chinese National team.

Cool, I made the news (photo only)
man thats track riding for ya, you need to get your self in again, and thats one way to do it.I wasn't impressed with what happened in the div4 endurance race, this teenage girl shoved herself right next to Adrian (I was behind Adrian) and squeezed him, forcing him down onto the grey boards and stayed there for quite some time. Well there we go, unless st george or randwick pull some thing amazing off (stgeorge need to do more than win every thing, because they have done that before?!) we are going to take out 5th place
Man i know its not top three with a prize, but its still amazing that we are going to do it?! seriously if you were here with me, simon and huw last season with all these other massive clubs around you wouldnt have beleived that we could be a contender for any thin in the next while let alone top 5. So yeah im heaps happy with this result
Next year depending on life hopefully we can get 3rd

Top effort boys! You might at the very least get some new riders in newbie and mug categories next year, to at least contribute some participation points. But probably, as the club goes from strength to strength, you'll do better than that.
I know I've contributed very little to the RAW points tally but I'm very pleased for the club to be able to beat much bigger clubs like St George and RBCC. I remember going to a bike shop once and asking for the club discount. They asked which club? "Dulwich Hill" I replied. Then the bike shop dude said "I thought you had only three or four old guys". Its great for "brand recognition" that people know that were a club that is going from strength to strength.

A picture of the crash I was involved in last Friday night.
Courtesy of danger mouse on the Illawarra Cycle Club disscussion forum.
I'm in the red jersey with the reflective stripe, surfing the blue bland with my arse (not recommended). The big hole in the middle of the bunch is all the riders I took out (also not recommended, not even a little bit).

Huw, you took them out like 10 pin bowling. You should bug crafty for a copy of the Video.
Crafty forwarded me this photo and said he'd get the footage up on YouTube. The videotape was in his vest pocket - he just needs to locate the vest...!Huw, you took them out like 10 pin bowling. You should bug crafty for a copy of the Video.
Yes. No breaks. Soft tissue damage to knee and shoulder appears to be healing steadily. Front wheel needs rebuilding, and I need a new saddle, or someone with really strong arms to re-insert the rails into the shell. Are you alright?

I have re-insert rails before, its not easy, I could have a go with a vice if you want. No grantees tho.
Huw - it was such slow motion, I remember Christian standing next to me and having time to say: *censored*,...,...., about four or five times. Then indeed you took on a foetal position and transformed cleaverly into a small target bowling ball.
Anyway right from the start I heard spokes ripping, this from a pedal inserted in your front wheel

A follow-up on the Chinese female trackie talked about earlier, Jinjie Gong. She showed up at the Chinese Track National Championship (Beijing) with her coach Sean Eadie (without beard?) by her side.
Don't know. I couldn't find any results on the web. Supposedly this present meet was a points meet and the national trials proper is in the near future.
What I did read is that when national team riders return to compete for their provincial teams, they are not allowed to take their national team bikes with them (ie. Look/Mavic etc). So they had to ride the bikes provided by their provincial team or sponsor. Not sure which sports administration paid for Gong's Teschner but it sure was unique amongst her compatriots.

Through my contacts in a Chinese cycling forum.
Ahh, Jinjie. Do you know that I once touched her inner thigh?
(OK, along with the other 30, male riders I started for the flying 200).

Sounded like a good story you are just dying to tell. So share it!Ahh, Jinjie. Do you know that I once touched her inner thigh?

I think I captured the moment fairly concisely already. Although there was one other moment, immediately before the one I've already described, where I reached down between her legs to grab hold of her . . . seat post.
I am truly confused...

He was too busy admiring her athletic abilityMan im surprised simon doesnt have more to say on the subject, she got him a spot on the video, a memory that is now on dvd
Man this should have been a long thread by this year. I reckon he should make a forum for the actual RAW series. Theres some lads that are pretty into it, especially the lad that won the whole thing, he puts alot intop it all.this is going to be a long thread by next year
Just received message that she came third in women's sprint.how did she go there?
My understanding is that JG is ranked in the top five amongst Chinese female sprinters with Shuang Guo being the leader. IIRC, JG was not selected for the chinese women's track team at the Beijing Olympics.does that compute ? - there must be a lot of depth in Chinese female track. She cleaned up at RAW...I would think she'd win the lot

She's actually the third ranked Chinese sprinter. She qualified 4th fastest at the worlds but somehow managed to get knocked out in the first round, which put her below the 14th qualifier (also from China). I guess she has lots of sped but alot to learn about tactics... I think she is the youngest of the 3 Chinese sprinters by a fair bit, 6 years or so. So she has plenty of time to develop. My understanding is that JG is ranked in the top five amongst Chinese female sprinters with Shuang Guo being the leader. IIRC, JG was not selected for the chinese women's track team at the Beijing Olympics.

Actually, she is just 8 months younger than team's No 1, Shuang Guo. The organization there tend not to keep riders very long within the professional ranks and have a tendency to depend on young riders.I think she is the youngest of the 3 Chinese sprinters by a fair bit, 6 years or so.
