Nowra Race Report

8.30 am 12 Circuits of Flinders Industrial Estate for 32kms Handicap with about 8 to 10 groups.

I left off on 2nd group 3 minutes after limit. Only four of us and a bit disorganised so I got a paceline going as best as possible.

Wasn't too challenging and I could probably have been started in the next group.

After 30 mins we got caught by a combined group 3,4 and 5 of about 12.

Pace was much faster more like C Grade Heffron. Some sharp corners and some good inclines so it was a great criterium type course.

Got to bell lap and no one in sight behind. Clearly the win was going to come from the survivors of group 1 to 5. I felt really good and started to move up deciding to take fourth wheel for the last 2 kms.

A bit of a dull feel underneath and I looked down to see my flat back tyre. That was it. A real awful feeling!

Having said that it was a great course and a bargain $5 entry fee. Worth a weekend away for their regular races.
