Tour De Trainer

If it's bucketing Sunday morning, anyone interested in a Tour de Trainer?
I've been off the bike so long between family stuff and rain that I have to do a couple of hours of something this weekend!
I could fit four, maybe six, folks in my shed ... play some music etc
Or of there is mass interest, maybe underneath Tempe if one of the key-bearers wants to play.
We could even do it at a civilised hour ...

Not a bad idea, but I don't think I could do a couple of hours on a trainer even if I was surrounded by people and constantly entertained.

I'm going out rain, hail or shine this weekend (on the fixie if it's raining). I don't mind the rain but I hate my feet getting wet! I hear socks + glad wrap + booties is the answer. I need some booties :(

Anyone got a projector? We could show cycling DVDs or a movie ...

(riding in the rain will give me a cold and put me in bed for a week with a sinus infection, a big no-no for the self-employed when they are on deadline)

I've got one we could use. Also, made a training dvd. Mike and Lindsay have copies, if you want to do that again.

Looks like the wet might be settling in for another week....

Ill be riding fixed with you on sunday then Vic. The glad wrap is where its at for keeping your feet dry, if you dont have booties, just get a pair of large old socks and cut a cleat hole in them and away you go.

Excellent.

I am wondering if just wrapping myself entirely in glad wrap would be acceptable?

Is the glad wrap on top or under your cycling gear? or are you just wearing glad wrap???

I can steal a 1km industrial roll of glad wrap from uni if need be.

Initially I thought under, but wearing it over might be more eye catching.

If it's bucketing down tomorrow morning I might take the fixie to Waterfall as well if anyone is keen. I've done crap all riding this week and I need an excuse to eat lots of food.

That's unless any of the Saturday afternoon racing goes ahead regardless of rain? Heffron doesn't, what about LACC?

Ummm.... back on topic - let me know what you want to do Simon and I'll book it in. The DVD I made lasts an hour, and I was surprised how quickly it went, with a bit of entertainment thrown in. If we wanted to go a bit longer maybe someone has ideas for material.

Alternatively, if there's any hills nearby, maybe we can do some quiet suburban hill climbs in between spins. There's some great little climbs on the Cooks River Valley.

I've got Spinervals if you want them, but they are old.

I've been to LACC in the wet and they canceled, it was a while back.

Haven't been on my bike since Sunday, but I'm still not riding on Sunday if its raining

That's ok, so am I.

You get used to the graininess, lack of focus and dated lyrics after a bit...

So, what's the wet weather plan Simon?

I will need to hear the rain and then go back to sleep even if it's just for a little while. On principle.
