Here are some photos of my FAS Gossamer crank. I guess the verdict would have to be that I have worn my chainring out. I have to say that the more I think about it, the more intrigued I am by the fact that it's possible for a cyclist to wear out chainrings before a cassette. I have have used the same cassette (and the chainrings) for the past 10,000kms, and never have I had any problems with chainskip at the cassette. I change my chain regularly. Could it be because of my over-reliance on my middle ring (as opposed to others who use their larger ring more often) or maybe these cranks are just plain garbage. who knows? Hopefully, I can now be voted the first person to ever have worn out chainrings before a cassette. Here's a photo for you to have a look. One tooth on the middle ring is completely gone. The large ring doesn't look great either. The small ring is still in great condition. Obviously I only use it to get the most attrocious hills like Artillary Hill, Audely Hill, the last 500m of Waterfall Hill, Bulli Pass and anything worse than those.

I recently replaced my big ring, middle ring, chain and cluster all at the same time.

I have already decided on a new Ultegra crank. I will also replace the cassette and the chain as well.

I've got a 170mm Tigra triple, with 130BCD for the big and middle rings.

Why don't you just change the rings and keep the crank?

I guess I thought the Ultegra Hollowtech II crank for $167 and an extra $35 for the external cups on PBK was a pretty good deal!

Your got a point there, by the time you have paid for the rings...

Definitely worn out, though that really bad tooth would have started shorter for shifting purposes, so wear is probably even on all teeth. Cassette has probably lasted well due to the steel teeth being much more wear resistant compared to the alloy.

Ultegra cranks should last much longer. well definitely the chainrings.

Every 2000 Kms approx. As I mentioned earlier, I am still on the same cassette so I guess its not a case of chain stretch wearing out the gears.
