Simon and Jess just phoned in the news now. VP SImon, and DHBC member Jessica attended an invitation by the Inner West Courier to attend the Business Achievement Awards. They sat on the VIP table, and unknown to us, we were were put up for, and won the Community Contribution Award - including a trophy.

Nice to hear the impact we are having on the community and getting some recognition - lets keep up all the great work.

Simon - awaiting some commentary of the night....

Yeah I"ve got to say it was a shock to say the least! I was told we were attending as guests of the editor of the Inner West Courier, John Bilic. He came & spoke to us a few times during the night and was very excitied about both what we stood for and how much of an impact we have had on the community. He particularly mentioned how much we stand out in our red jerseys and seeing us at the coffee shop every Saturday & Sunday mornings.

Congratulations to everybody in the club! We now rank in the business world in the inner west! The one line that stood in my head from the night was you need one of these awards in bussiness to succeed. But not that our club is a business in that sense, but it is a big honor to receive one!!

Congratulations everyone - especially all those who do the behind the scenes stuff running the club and driving a culture of friendliness and responsibility.

A trophy! that's great. Better get it down to the cafe on Sunday morning!

That's awesome!

Stuff like that can really help when trying to get sponsorship for events.

Glad you like it :) It's a NZ recipe... And I couldn't keep any of it at my house or I would eat it all and make myself violently ill!
