Dulwich Hill spotted
We all wondered what happened to you this morning Dougie. Was it on Anzac Parade?
Too much pressure in the tube?
My tube blew up and ripped to pieces once because of that..
Thanks all for your concerns. I am of the opinion that the problem lies with the rim. I have changed tyres (GP 4000's to GP 4000's) I have a tyre liner, they are checked for glass etc regularly, the flats haven't been pinch flats. All flats have been "slow" flats with one pinhole. Tyre pressure has been consistently 95 -100psi. All flats have been the back wheel. Five flats in six weeks. All replacement tubes are brand new out of the box Continentals. Prior to that on the same wheelset with the same conditions no flats for more than 12 months!
I will change wheelsets for this weekend and take some time with the rear wheel. Such is the frequency of these flats that I spend an extraordinarily large amount of time looking down.

How many flats have you had this year?
half a dozen or so in the last six weeks. trouble free before that for almost 18 months. I have changed tyres, tubes, tyre liner, pressure, checked for glass etc. swapped to a different wheelset for the last seven days. all ok so far (jinxed now)How many flats have you had this year?

Todd and Kerry heading to the Marrick for Waterfall(?); Nick and I were heading to Kurnell.
Kerry and I were indeed heading to the Marrick for Waterfall. I thought you and Nick were trying to chase down the RNP group who were about 500 metres in front of you.Todd and Kerry heading to the Marrick for Waterfall(?); Nick and I were heading to Kurnell.
I am considering Kurnell next Monday (long weekend). I have ride leader duties Saturday and Sunday next weekend and I will post details of the ride on the forum if it gets off the ground.

Todd, I would be very interested in the Kurnell ride if it eventuates - just make sure I am supervised near the windows in the Kurnell cafe (I nearly walked through one on Sunday!).
6:40pm-ish, Jimmy (James C) in a colourful jersey and fully decked out with a helmet GoPro, waiting at the end of Victoria Rd to turn into The Crescent. Road warrior cool as ever!

One DH rider spotted on the intersection of College and William St at 7:35am sharp, waiting to cross and heading north... Good civil rider behaviour observed amongst waiting pedestrians and riders.

Jeez, can't get away with anything these days! I was explaining my overtaking beer anxiety. Hence the animation.
Was going South over the bridge this morning and went past a DHBC bunch on their way north over the bridge. Was so surprised to see red jerseys going north, I didn't manage to get any words out.
Also got chased up the Pac highway on wednesday by Anthony so he could introduce himself as a dhbc rider.
2 sightings in a week on the Northside - amazing

John Caley at La Perouse; we all (Nick Gowing as well) discussed avoiding continuous Spring Cycle "Auto Paused" and "Resumed" on our Garmins. Beautiful morning.
Amazing. Wednesday 7:33am at College/Park St intersection waiting to cross, same DHBC rider spotted again. That's precision timing! Seeing more this time, riding a Dark Jamis bike with red/white helmet.

Jonathon is my guess? Doesn't ride with us too often these days as he lives in the East. Commutes on a Jamis, does his epic rides on a BMC.Amazing. Ok, thanks. Given the Wed and timing, I thought he was coming back from the LaPa ride in glorious DHBC colours. Will see how accurately he can time his ride next Wed... That'd be 3 in a row.Jonathon is my guess? Doesn't ride with us too often these days as he lives in the East. Commutes on a Jamis, does his epic rides on a BMC.
I reckon it's Andrew Harvey, rides middies, red n white stack hat, rode LaPa this morning. Oh and rides a JamisOk, thanks. Doing 15 slowish laps of centennial by myself, was there from 7 to about 9. Caught up to Dougie & Eleri plus a few at the tail of the group but somehow didn't quite catch the lead slowies bunch. Passed the group at the main gates a few times whilst you were regrouping for the ride home but couldn't spot anyone I knew in eyesight range.
I was circling and then circled some more after the group left as I usually ride back home through the city/Anzac Br. CP is sufficiently big at 3.8km that it takes quite a bit of speed differential to be able to cross path. Next week then!

Saturday 12noon. Anthony Pham along Canterbury Rd, near Beamish Street Campsie.
Spotted a rider heading towards the Airport at about 7.30am on Renwick St South Marrickville. we acknowledged one another as we passed. He was in a DHBC jersey with a flouro wind vest. I am thinking Mark Hales but not convinced of that. Who are you?

I was in the cage and spotted 4 riders around 5.45am in Alexandria heading towards CP, some in club kit. Perhaps its the same people?
Mass spotting of DHBC riders on Princes Hwy this AM, on their way to the Gong. We were enjoying a great sausage, bacon and salad breakfast, courtesy of Mikesbytes just down from Ikea. No names though.
A young looking female (I think) rider coming up Bridge Rd in Glebe towards Glebe Point Rd at about 8:15 on Sat morning at the back of a small bunch of mixed jerseys.
Same male rider twice on Sunday - passed him once on the M5 (we were in the car) and then again on M7 bike path when we were on the return leg back to M5 near to the M2 end. Don't know who though.

That was Steve Radmanovic and I. I don't usually read this page much as so few people live or work out this way. Steve and I ride to Concord Hospital and back most days. We used to meet up with Lindsay on his way to Parammatta, but gave up on the cycle path as too dangerous. The backstreets are much safer!

I was initially confused when I heard someone shouting "James" from behind but in answer to your question, yes I be back at tempe as soon as my new track bike is complete. and maybe a bit of waterfall in preparation for the summer track season

Eric Macdonald (nearest cyclist to camera) plus probably Ben Fox and Christian on the Track and Colin Williams in photo I took at Anzac Cup this year and spotted on Cycling NSW website http://www.nsw.cycling.org.au/News/All- ... ommissions.
Eleri, your commute sounds more inviting than mine: Dulwich Hill to Chatswood via two trains and the Dentist.
On my way to work on that well known commute route from Marrickville to Ashfield - via La Perouse and Surry Hills. That's what everyone does, right?

I've also been known to commute from Enmore to Botany, via Waterfall.
Isn't that on the list of signs that you're a cyclist? you move further away from work to extend your commute?

I took a look at this thread in the weekend, and saw that "Strawburger" spotted me recently. I was thinking who is "Strawburger" so I did a bit of a search, and found the above conversation from late 2011 about me, lol. I remember that ride, it was hard work, not sure if I was taking it easy on the hills, but I did have a flu and I think I was struggling on the hills. It ended up being a full year later before I actually joined DHBC!I "Rode with" the ox yesterday morning. As per normal he flew past me on the flat. Somehow i was passing him on the hills. We did this for about 20 mins before we took it easy through Pyrmont. We chatted and found out he had a flu and was taking it easy on the hills As he has been on one Waterfall ride and intends to do more i guess i can claim the DH spotted!
And i was shattered for the rest of the day after that ride
btw I spotted "Strawburger" out doing some secret training.
