*looks around*
erm, Hello all...
Was told about your club by someone off the forums @ bicycles.net.au
So, here i am, been cycling on a steady basis for a few months, just for fitness/commuting, i have a GT Outpost, but I'll be getting my first real road bike (with drop bars) when finances allow, or in the new year, whichever comes first...
Well I shall look forward to meeting some of you on the weekend rides.
cheers,
Marcus

Hi Marcus, see you Saturday 6.30am at Mick Mazza's on Marrickville rd.
Marcus,
YOu are very welcome. Even before getting your road bike, rock up to Saturday Slowies at Mick Mazza's as per Mike's suggestion.
We have all sorts of bikes and experience with this group.
You might also get some advice to help you get the right road bike which suits your circumstances.

Can anyone help me with my front derailer?
I've retightened the cable, but the derailer will only move down, not up...
I've loosened it up enough for it to move, sprayed the cables with lube...
Relubed the chain with teflon lube...
So.... What's the problem?

You won't need it. Stick your chain in the middle ring, and come along. If the chain is rubbing, take the deraileur off. Well have a look at it on the road. P.S. All cyclists should carry their own tools so bring the right spanner to re-attach it.
Sounded like a stop screw setting issue.

Just want to let everyone know I probably won't turn up for a few weeks.
I'm starting work with Pedapod on the 12th and right now im just kinda tired from riding the thing for about 2 1/2 hrs.
That might have something to do with not eating enough yesterday.
And I don't think I'll enjoy riding with a group if i can't get the full use of my gears.
Will get my bike serviced with my first pay cheque.
Until then... And I'll let u all know when that is.
cheers
