Nathan suggested we have a track day at the speed skating rink. and i think it's a good idea!

there are plenty of skate school speed skates in all sizes. come a little early (6 ish) and i'll make sure the skates in you'r size are sharp.
I was thinking the 19th is a good day to give it a go. so come down and give those cyclist legs a shot to go fast on the ice! it's just like @ the track. go fast turn left.

How much?

it's $16. (includes skate hire).
you'll need to wear a helmet and long pants and shirt. and i also recomend gloves and knee pads (i wear both)
oh clear glasses are also good.

p.s if you'r fast enough Maggie (the coach) will let you stay on for races and club time!

on speed skate blades? have you seen how sharp they are?

Pencil me in! I have ice skated a few times, but never this fast. Knowing I have an impulse control problem, I will be charing you with making sure I don't kill myself Lizanne.

I had never actually thought of the fact that we may fall over until I turned up and Nathan told me we needed helmets etc?!

The highlight of the night had to be Ian's helmet!!




Loved it, and am trying to work out if it would be better than free pilates..

these skin suits don't cover so much...

they cover less in cycling.

And for anyone who missed out, skate school is on every thursday, and you can come down any time!

Ice skating. I always assumed it was the roller variety.
Tried it for the first time since I was 11 about a year ago. Scary.
Much further to fall than what I remember from the old days.

I really enjoyed it, thanks for teeing this up Lizanne. I might be inclined to go again another time.
