Middies paced ride on Anzac Day to Royal National Park

I have transferred this thread from the other one we normally use for weekend rides.

5:30am start from Marrickville Road Cafe to RNP - probably Waterfall in, Audley out - around 100kms.

On a selfish note, depending on my stamina I might go on a bit further to see my brother for coffee who lives in Wombarra for a quick coffee. This detour takes in the wonderful Sea Cliff Bridge but also has a very dangerous descent from (and climb up) Bald Hill. Others are very welcome to join me if they wish.

Weather forecast looks to be great. I'm keen to have a good hit out to pay for some of my sins over the past few weekends (read: no riding and plenty of boozing)

Tidy little list.... See you all tomorrow morning. What route is on everyone's wish list? I'm feeling a trip to the wall is in order.....

Just saw the original post. I'm happy with waterfall in then return via the park. The wall can wait for another day.

Thanks John for arranging this ride. Great weather, low level of bogans (especially for Anzac Day) and a trip up the wall...

Extra bonus to pick up the 6.30 group for the roll back from Sutho.

Now who's going to join me on the 5th for Macquarie Pass? :)

Thanks John, thanks all!
Thanks John M for dragging me along Bertram Stephens Drive.
Thanks all for waiting for me at various points.
Fastest average ever for that ride for me. Got to love the Wall.
Can't wait till next time
Peter :D

Great day out with a great bunch of guys.

My sojourn to Wombarra was tough but my brother put on a good breakfast. Despite my desire, I simply couldn't make it up Denmark Street. It was too steep and my gearing wasn't appropriate so I started the walk of shame up the hill. After climbing back up to Stanwell Tops I ended up going back through the park to Waterfall for added pain. At that point the bogan fraternity were well and truly on the road with a skinful. I was abused a couple of times and nearly knocked off the bike by a wayward driver. But whilst wearing the jersey, I kept my cool.

See you all next time.

Would love to but I'm already booked for something else. Anxious to hear how it goes.
