Chapeau to Peter B, Raph and Dave on a cracking ride.

For Raph and Dave, this was their first +200km ride. For Pete, this was about his 6th such ride in the past 4 months...

Given that we were expecting weather not too dissimilar to today, it was incredible that we weren't touched by a single drop of rain.

All in all, we covered ~235km of distance, with ~3,500m of climbing.

A cracking pace throughout (+27km/h) meant we were home earlier than expected, but also means tired bodies today...

Apart from the company, particular highlights for me included the rolling countryside and bushland adjacent to the Hawkesbury on the approach to Mangrove Mountain. And the lamb, honey, chilli and garlic pie at Pie in the Sky!

There was a point, late morning, when turning left towards Cessnock (rather than right towards Gosford) would have taken us to the Hunter Valley wineries fairly quickly. Maybe there's a 2-day wine tasting + cycling tour there at some point...

A fantastic Audax-style randonnée.

A 2 day Hunter wine tour does sound good!
