I'd be in for a saturday as long as i don't have work. I should have all my saturdays free soon anyway. 15th would be good for me at the moment.
I'd say no to the penny farthings, as i don't want to be the one to experiment on the banking with them.

Sounds interesting Tim. Would we have access to the store room?

what events do we want?
Kilo
4000 metre time trial (not for every one but long distance lads like it hey.
Match sprint or even one thats 3 riders?
a scratch race? maybe two?
what other events do people want? a team sprint? or persuit?
Missing out?
this is a big part so we can write some times down, and have some thing to build on next year, or even at the end of the off season, to see how far we are progressing.
Is this going to be open to other riders? can petachi and stuey ride in it?
i guess this depends if we need the numbers or not, but yeah im happy with in house, just think a scratch race will be out right win by simon if hes there, not that i dont think he will win every thing hes in.

Tim are you thinking a DHBC and friends type meet.
dunno
its a club championship that we can say who won every thing, just really to have times, but yeah dunno if we let other people ride etc, and just give the first second and third of the dullwich hills to dullwich hill riders? or do what they do at the states where they dont give out that place, or just give it to the other person, i dont think we are giving out any thing for the placings, so it doesnt matter heaps if other people get them, but if we get petachi and stuey (dont think theyd want to ride, but using as example) then they would take out two of top spots.

Sorry all ... can't make it.
Having said that, with a bit more notice I'd love to.
And FWIW, I reckon we should say the last Saturday of every even numbered month, or something like that, and do pointscore over the year for club champs!
(Of course as a total n00b that's a very presumptuous suggestion).

What a great afternoon's racing we had. Firstly I'd like to thank Anna Papas for her great efforts in the difficult task of running the racing, Kevin Llewellyn for organising the BBQ, Llewellyn Jones for his photo taking & Tim Llewellyn for thinking all this up.
On Simon's recommendation we run an omnium which from CyclingNews is as follows -
• A 200m flying start time trial (like what the sprinters do to qualify for their heats, but in this case times and points will be recorded);
• Then a 5km scratch race (or the number of laps closest to 5km);
• Then a 3km individual pursuit (and 2km for juniors) with the riders seeded on how they finished in the scratch race (so dropping off the back of the bunch could be a problem);
• Next up comes a 15km points race, with a minimum of five intermediate and the sixth final sprint;
• And then to cap it off, a kilo. Yes, a one kilometre time trial, generally held as one of the hardest minutes of any cyclist's life. In the omnium, the riders will ride off in pairs, pursuit-style.
We stuck closely to the format, only shortening the point score. And added an all in shoe race at the end... (which Anna & I came 4th on the Tandem)
Here's the results - Congratulations to Simon for a great effort to win all events. Notable was Huw for his second, the battle of the titans Tim & Mike & Louie our only junior in the event.

Also a big thank you to Lindsay who worked very hard all night running the events
Tim, looking at the pursuit results, it seems everybody rode 10 laps (3333 1/3 metres) not the 9 required for 3000m, that would explain the slower times.man i had fun

THat does sound alot more reasonable. I estimate that we were loosing about 4 seconds a kilometre to the wind also. I almost felt like I was being pushed backwards in the kilo.
But no it was no where near as easy to win as what the reults say. I suffered some what good. Huw pushed me all the way!!!

the time trial is the one we will see the most improvement in next time id say, alot of us werent sure how to ride it :S I had a speedo on and cruised it a bit
i picked most of the placings before it all except for the battle between me and mike?! i didnt think about him having such an advantage!!
But yeah

And the top tube line needs to be horizontal, virtual top tube if it was a compact frame.centre to centre would be bottom bracket to centre of top tube intersection with seat tube
Top tube doesn't need to be horizontal for a centre to centre seat tube measurement as it mainly gives an idea of standover, however you a right in that horizontal top tube is a better measure to look at for a compact frame.And the top tube line needs to be horizontal, virtual top tube if it was a compact frame.
