Joining Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club

So you'd like to join DHBC—great news—here's how:

There are 2 easy steps to membership
  1. Understand the Risks of Cycling;
  2. Take out a free trial with AusCycling if you're still considering whether you want a permanent membership: signup here.
  3. Upgrade to a Lifestyle or Race membership as appropriate. Note: we don't recommend the Lifestyle Basic membership as it doesn't include personal accident cover, and is only slightly cheaper.

For those who are fairly new to riding and want to trial riding with the Club, AusCycling have introduced a free 4 week trial membership.

It's important for insurance, for complying with rules (including UCI and State and Australian Laws) and for organisational purposes that people join if they enjoy riding with DHBC. Plus if you like the club, why not join up?

Joining DHBC gives you membership to 2 organisations
  1. Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club (DHBC); and
  2. AusCycling (which provides insurance and allows you to race if you have a race licence).

What sort of licence do I need?

If you just want to ride Saturday Slowies and/or do Waterfall on a Sunday, adventure rides and participate in other official club training rides and/or do Track Training (not racing) you need a Lifestyle licence, the cost of which covers administration and insurance and the DHBC membership fee.

If you want to race on the road, track or mountain biking (including track omniums and the club crit series) you need a Race licence.

Age categories are dependant on the age you turn in the current calendar year and range from juniors, through elite to masters.

Membership categories are outlined on the AusCycling website at this page.

Membership costs

DHBC membership is itemised as a small fee on top of the base AusCycling membership.

Membership fees are listed in the AusCycling membership website. Select your package, click join, select NSW and 'Dulwich Hill BC' and all avaible categories and their respective prices will be listed.

Payments
You must join DHBC on-line using a credit card. If you do not have access to a credit card, please contact the secretary via the links on the homepage to organise a manual membership application.

Expiry & Renewal

Lifestyle memberships can be taken out on a monthly basis, the Race membership can be paid monthly although the commitment is for a year.
